Stencil Gothic

The letter W of stencil gothic

Stencil-Gothic — designed and registered at the US-patent office in 1885 by John West of Brooklyn, New York — is the first known typeface that incorporates the stylistic feature of interrupted strokes in order to evoke the impression of stencil lettering. Digitised in collaboration with Ellmer Stefan. See the dedicated website stencil-gothic.com for further information.
